Job Description

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Policy Development Officer to lead the development and review of Hope Street’s organisational policies and procedures. In this role, you will ensure our policies are clear, current, and aligned with legislation, contracts, and sector best practice. You’ll work closely with the CEO, Operations Manager, and People and Culture Manager to embed policies into daily operations and support strong governance and service delivery. You’ll also engage with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure our policy framework reflects emerging trends and aligns with Hope Street’s values.

ABOUT YOU

You will have:

  • A degree (or postgraduate qualification) in Public Policy, Law, Social Work, Community Development or a related field.
  • Experience in policy development within the community services or not-for-profit sector.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret legislation and translate complex information into clear, practical policies.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • A commitment to child safety, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
